The Perth Wildcats have signed Lat Mayen on a two-year deal.

The Perth Wildcats have former 36er and Taipans forward Lat Mayen on a two-year deal.

Mayen said he was excited to join NBL25 teammate Sunday Dech at a new club.

“It’s awesome that Sunday and I are back together. He’s one of the best teammates I’ve had, but I’m ready to learn from everybody at the Wildcats,” Mayen said.

The 26-year-old spent the last season in Adelaide, impressing in front of the Red Army at the inaugural HoopsFest at RAC Arena, where he scored a career-high 23 points.

"I’m very excited to play for ‘JR’ and in front of the Red Army instead of up against them," he said.

"Perth will bring new challenges that I’m ready to take on."

Rillie said he was eager to add Mayen to an already growing roster.

“We see Lat playing an important role for the Wildcats in NBL26,” Rillie said.

“He’s a really tough competitor, can defend multiple positions and has also proven to be an effective three-point shooter.”

Mayen is currently playing for the West Adelaide Bearcats in the NBL1 Central.

He joins Development Player Cameron Huefner, Dech, Kristian Doolittle, Dylan Windler, Jesse Wagstaff, Elijah Pepper and Tom Gerovich who are all contracted for NBL26.
