This NBL star's numbers need to be seen to be believed

"It’s one of those things that the longer you play in NBL1, the more confident I’m going to be going into NBL."

Elijah Pepper’s numbers at NBL1 level would be well-placed in a video game.

The 23-year-old has been nothing short of dominant during his time with the Warwick Senators, averaging an incredible 49.7 points, across three appearances, in 12 days.

50, 51, 48 … they’re his scoring feats in less than a fortnight, and it comes off the back of nine, nine and 10 three-pointers respectively.

"Having the ball in your hands, that makes the confidence automatically go up regardless of how it’s going," Pepper told the NBL1 website.

"It’s one of those things that the longer you play in NBL1, the more confident I’m going to be going into NBL.

"It’ll be really good to be able to try and carry that over into the start of NBL26 and hopefully have a good season there as well."

The Perth Wildcats young gun is shooting the lights out, and he’s getting it done elsewhere too. Averages of 7 assists, 5 rebounds and 1.3 steals a game are nothing to be sneezed at.

Pepper played 31 NBL games last season, averaging 7.1 points a game, but if his off-season form is anything to go by, he could be seeing a lot more playing action in NBL26.

Pepper's Warwick Senators take on the Perth Redbacks on Saturday night at 9pm AEST (7pm AWST).
