"...at least two other NBL club's are weighing up a potential pitch to entice Doyle away from the JackJumpers."

As the off-season steadily rolls along, many big names are still on the free agency watch-list, including championship winning guard Milton Doyle.

There has been strong discussion in recent weeks about the mutual interest in a return to the JackJumpers, but they may not be alone in their efforts to land the star guard.

Hools is hearing… that while the above still holds true, at least two other NBL club's are weighing up a potential pitch to entice Doyle away from the JackJumpers.

Doyle has been nothing short of outstanding since arriving in the NBL three years ago and is one of just a handful of players to have won a championship and received NBL First and Second team recognition.

Doyle is currently playing in Puerto Rico, teaming up with NBL talent such as Tyrell Harrison of the Bullets and Sam Waardenburg of the Taipans. In his three seasons for Tasmania, Doyle has a career average of just under 16 points, five rebounds and four assists, making him one of the most damaging guards around the league.

It is very common at this point in the off-season for clubs to take their time with import signings, as they continue to build up from their local core before adding those big names.

However, what doesn’t come around every day are imports who have prior success in the league and continue to get it done at a high rate. Players like Doyle and Tyler Harvey, who have been proven to lead clubs to the ultimate success.

While the mutual interest in a return to Tasmania remains strong—a place Doyle has called home for the past three years—no deal has been done. As a result, the key gaps on other rosters make a player of Doyle’s calibre an enticing target.
